IQAC

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at NSoM is being established in February 2025 and is in alignment with the recommendations of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), the IQAC is mandated for all Higher Educational Institutions to ensure continuous quality improvement.

The primary role of the IQAC is to facilitate the effective implementation of quality initiatives through regular reviews and periodic assessments. It strives for excellence across NSoM’s academic, research, consulting, training, and administrative domains.

Objectives

The IQAC aims to:

  • Establish and maintain a robust quality management system to drive consistent, strategic, and sustained improvements in academics, research, consulting, training, and administration.
  • Develop growth-oriented measures that foster institutional excellence by internalizing a culture of quality and institutionalizing best practices.
  • Ensure the fulfilment of the institution’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.

Governance & Leadership Structure

To ensure efficiency and accountability, the IQAC will be governed by a structured leadership framework:

  • IQAC Coordinator:A responsible faculty member who is inclined and interested in the overall IQAC operations and its management.
  • Committee Members: Representatives from: Faculty, Administration, Industry Experts, Alumni, Student Body and the Community.
  • This diverse representation ensures holistic decision-making and strategic execution of quality initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Participation

The success of IQAC depends on active participation from all stakeholders:

  • Faculty:Curriculum development, research contributions, pedagogy enhancement and other relevant initiatives.
  • Students:Feedback mechanisms, participation in quality improvement initiatives and related initiatives.
  • Industry Experts:Advisory role, internships, guest lectures, real-world case studies and other related initiatives.
  • Alumni:Mentorship programs, networking, fundraising, career guidance and other related activities.
  • Campus recruiters:Recruitment, Feedback about the student performance, guidance and related activities.
  • Parents:Feedback and inputs.
  • Community Engagement;

Strategies for Quality Enhancement

The IQAC will implement various strategies to ensure continuous improvement:

  • Academic Excellence:Implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and innovative teaching-learning methodologies.
  • Research & Innovation:Strengthening research culture through funding, collaborations, and patent support.
  • Global Collaboration:Partnering with international institutions for student and faculty exchange programs.
  • Technology Integration:Utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS), AI-based analytics, and digital tools for enhanced learning experiences.
  • Sustainability & Social Responsibility:Encouraging eco-friendly initiatives and social outreach programs.

Quality Assurance Mechanisms

To systematically enhance academic and administrative performance, IQAC will:

  • Conduct Annual Academic & Administrative Audits (AAA) provide feedback to all the stakeholders and conduct in follow-up to ensure the closure of the loop
  • To prepare and submit the Annual Quality Assurance Report as per guidelines.
  • Implement a Program Review and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Framework.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Institutional Progress.
  • Promote Continuous Faculty Development Programs to enhance teaching methodologies.
  • To develop specific parameters for various academic / research / consulting and administrative activities of the institution
  • To develop and apply quality benchmarks to all practices, methods and approaches.

Faculty based Initiatives

  • To help support faculty growth and maturation in order to adopt to the required knowledge/skill and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • To organize inter and intra institutional continued educational programs (like conferences, seminars, workshops, symposia and such other related), on quality related areas.
  • To document the various programmes/activities, conducted by the various Institutional teams / committees / Cells, which lead to quality improvement
  • To develop and maintain the institutional database to support quality related activities

Faculty based Initiatives

  • To help support faculty growth and maturation in order to adopt to the required knowledge/skill and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • To organize inter and intra institutional continued educational programs (like conferences, seminars, workshops, symposia and such other related), on quality related areas.
  • To document the various programmes/activities, conducted by the various Institutional teams / committees / Cells, which lead to quality improvement

Student based Initiatives

  • The focus of the quality cell can also be on enhancing the experiences for the students so that they remain as permanent learnings.
  • To develop and maintain robust systems for ensuring alumni interaction with the institute.
  • To develop cohesiveness and a “one institute” culture and work towards strengthening the bond between institute and the stakeholders.
  • To facilitate the creation of a learner-centric culture, which is conducive to quality education.
  • To collect, analyse, disseminate the feedback obtained from all stakeholders regarding various processes and approaches, to all the stakeholders.

Research & Innovation Ecosystem

To strengthen research output and innovation, the IQAC will:

  • Encourage Faculty & Student Research Grants for high-impact projects.
  • Foster Industry Collaborations for applied research and live projects.lop and maintain robust systems for ensuring alumni interaction with the institute.
  • Provide Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Patent Support to protect research outputs.
  • Establish Incubation Center to promote entrepreneurship and startup culture.

Data-Driven Decision Making

IQAC will leverage data analytics to track institutional performance through:

  • Performance Dashboards for real-time monitoring.
  • AI & Predictive Analytics to identify areas of improvement.
  • Benchmarking with Leading National & International Institutions to maintain competitiveness.

Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR)

Beyond academics, the institution is committed to social responsibility through:

  • Community Engagement Programs in education, rural development, and environmental sustainability.
  • Student-Led Social Initiativesin collaboration with NGOs and corporate CSR programs.
  • Green Campus Initiatives promoting sustainability and eco-conscious practices.

Continuous Improvement & Future Roadmap

To ensure long-term institutional growth, the IQAC will:

  • Implement blended learning models integrating digital and in-person pedagogy.
  • Expand global partnerships for research and academic exchange programs.
  • Align institutional frameworks with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
  • Launch Leadership Training & Development Programs for faculty and administrators.

Expected Outcomes

The initiatives driven by IQAC will enable NSoM to:

  • Obtain NBA (1st cycle) accreditation
  • Later, achieve NAAC accreditation for academic excellence.
