Nitte School of Management conducted a Faculty Development Program on “NBA Accreditation and Quality Standards” on February 06, 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Kiran Aithal S, Director – R&D and Accreditation & Compliance, NMIT, Bengaluru. The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Gururaj B. Urs, Director, NSoM, who emphasized the importance of accreditation in enhancing academic quality and institutional credibility.
Dr. Aithal explained the role of the National Board of Accreditation and introduced Outcome-Based Education, highlighting the significance of Programme Outcomes, Programme Specific Outcomes and Course Outcomes in measuring learning effectiveness. He discussed major accreditation criteria, documentation practices, attainment calculations and the importance of systematic data management.
The session also outlined the responsibilities of teaching and non-teaching staff in maintaining records, supporting audits and ensuring readiness for peer review visits. Practical insights and best practices for continuous improvement were shared during the interactive discussion.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, strengthening awareness and preparedness towards achieving NBA accreditation and sustaining a culture of quality at the institution.
